"The First Colony Inn is a magnificent experience! The quaint rooms are opened by old fashioned metal keys! We had a queen room, and by chance got the screened balcony which was such an added bonus! The First Colony Inn seamlessly blends the past and present through the room stylings that include flat-screen TV, air conditioning, mini fridge, and more while utilizing framed items and furniture to give it the feel of the past. Only one point that made me just slightly sad was that the pool closes at dusk (assuming because there are no lights on it) and I'm a huge fan of night swims. But that is not enough to make me give this wonderful place anything less than 5 stars!"

"I can't say enough good things about First Colony Inn. Comfy, clean, relaxing. Breakfast was so nice! I felt very spoiled here. The two staff members I interacted with, at the front desk and at breakfast, were the BEST! Friendly and kind, and truly went above and beyond. Rooms: I was on the third floor with a nice view."

You are staying in a historically preserved Inn, which is a privilege in my opinion. Ive been several times and have no plans to ever stay anywhere else when visiting the outer banks. I learn a new piece of interesting history each time I stay here."

"Alma the lady at the lobby is awesome very attentive, pleasant and amazing hard worker. Breakfast was delicious. The room was good just a suggestion they need to add blackout curtains for more privacy, and the streaming on the tv is very slow to other than that the place is in a very good location."

"What a wonderful stay. This charming Inn is filled with so much character and history. We have already booked our next stay! Rooms: The rooms are so cozy and well decorated. I love that each piece sticks with the history of the inn, and hasn't been "modernized" for the sake of people-pleasing. Our room had a week working ac unit to keep the room cool in the hot summer months."
