"Very nice accommodations - We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Our room was spacious, bright, and all of the amenities worked just fine. Our only beef with our room we're the tall bed posts at the foot of the bed. They made for difficult viewing of the tv. The grounds are beautiful and very relaxing. You're only a short walk to the beach just across the road in the back. The wine and apps at 4:00PM each day added a nice touch. The restaurant recommendations by the staff were spot on. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Outer Banks and highly recommend it."

"Still the best place to stay in Nags Head - Second time visiting Nags Head and second time staying at the Inn. So yes, we really liked it the first time so had to stay here again. Best thing about this inn are the wide wrap around porches, so comfortable and relaxing when your goal was to sit on a rocking chair and do nothing at all. Breakfast was good, different hot items for the two days we were there. Afternoon wine and snacks were even better than we remembered. The private beach, although not right off the property, was just across from the road and uncrowded. Rooms come in different sizes, some bigger than others, and porch access is easier if you are on first and second floor as there are none on the third floor."

"Quaint Historic Inn - We enjoyed a much too brief overnight stay at the Inn. The staff was very pleasant and warm, we felt at home immediately. We arrived a little early and were able to check in. This was extra nice since our stay was so short. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a beautiful view of the grounds and just a bit of the ocean. The veranda had rocking chairs, hammock swings & plenty of seating to just relax and enjoy the view. The complimentary happy hour was an unexpected treat and we enjoyed a glass (or 2) of wine with the view. Our room was tastefully decorated with furniture from the era, including a sitting room with comfortable wing back chairs and love seat. If we would get the chance, we would definitely visit for a longer time. "

"A charming historical near the shore. - I really wanted a stay that was not a "box" hotel. First Colony Inn was just the place. It is on the historical registrar having originally been built in 1932. There is no elevator, so if you don't like stairs, get a first floor room. The climb is well worth it though. The rooms have a " homey" feel. The room was not really fancy, but it was comfortable and cool. It reminded me of staying with family. The Inn served breakfast and afternoon snacks; both were very good. The beach is just across the road, and the hotel has its own access. The grounds were absolutely lovely with flowers everywhere. Porches wrap around all of the floors and afford a wonderful place to sit. There is also a lovely patio in the back. If you are looking for an "out of the box" option for a lovely vacation in Nag's Head, this is definitely the place to go. Many wonderful memories were made during OUR stay. "

"Very Nice Stay at the First Colony Inn - We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the First Colony Inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We liked the historic nature of the inn and our room on the 3rd floor was great. The location was convenient to several good restaurants located on the sound (sunset views) across the street. Overall highly recommended!"
