"Stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed so many things. The wrap around porch with a variety of chairs, the delicious breakfast each day, and happy hour. We also used the beach cruisers each morning for a long ride along the bike path/sidewalk. The grounds are spacious too. The hotel is close proximity to the beach. The staff was very friendly."

"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."

"As first time guests, my husband and I were very impressed! The room we reserved was furnished with a beautiful 4- poster bed, writing table, tiled bathroom with a heated towel rack, flat screen tv, and a pair of wingback chairs. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and the complimentary delicious breakfasts varied from day to day. There is a huge wrap-around porch with rockers and hammock chairs."

"I stayed here for a night with my coworker, the inn is super charming and has great facilities. The location next to the beach is definitely a plus. I was surprised how affordable it was. I was pleasantly surprised as well by how amazing and filling breakfast was! It felt like a homecooked meal by my mom. I've traveled a lot for work and stayed in many hotels, and the breakfast in those places has never been that great."

"We stayed in the Superior King Room on the third floor. This was a unique and authentic experience that I would recommend to anyone traveling in the OBX. It was like a step back in time. It has been kept up to modern standards while preserving it’s historical character from the 1930s. The ocean can be viewed from the room, and the room is filled with antique furnishings like a writing table, four poster bed, day bed, chairs, etc. Taking a bath was lovely, with a heated towel rack, and nice lighting to set the mood. I would 100% recommend this stay, and it’s very affordable. So glad to have stumbled across this place!"
